Amref Deepens Community Impact Through CSR at Mwihoko Mutuya Primary School
Amref Health Africa reinforced its commitment to community wellbeing through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Mwihoko Mutuya Primary School in Kiambu County, aimed at promoting child health and a conducive learning environment.
The initiative focused on health education, hygiene promotion, and disease prevention, with learners and teachers sensitized on the importance of clean water, sanitation, and healthy daily habits that support learning outcomes.
Speaking during the event, Amref Chairman Major Gitau emphasized that investing in children’s health is an investment in the nation’s future. He noted that schools are critical spaces for shaping lifelong healthy behaviors and called for stronger partnerships between health institutions, communities, and the education sector to safeguard the wellbeing of young learners.
School administrators welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. They acknowledged that the program would contribute positively to both learner welfare and academic performance.
