IEBC Reaffirms Commitment to Credible Elections at Nairobi Meeting
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday held a high-level stakeholders’ meeting at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nairobi, bringing together political leaders, civil society groups, security agencies, and election observers.
The forum aimed to review past electoral processes and strengthen public confidence in Kenya’s democratic institutions. Speaking during the meeting, IEBC Chairperson emphasized the commission’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and professionalism in managing elections.
He noted that the commission had invested heavily in technology, staff training, and legal compliance to ensure that future elections are free, fair, and credible. “Our systems are designed to protect the will of the people. We will not allow manipulation of results,” he said.
Participants also discussed challenges faced during previous elections, including voter education, logistics, and security. Stakeholders were encouraged to work closely with the IEBC to promote peaceful participation.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge by all parties to uphold democratic values and ensure that Kenya’s electoral process remains strong and trustworthy.
