Allow me to take this opportunity to speak about the progress we are making in Gaturi and the wider Murang’a County.
As a government, we have come together with the community to promote unity, development, and empowerment for all.
At Gaturi Primary School and surrounding institutions, we have brought together young people from different areas, creating a platform for interaction, growth, and mentorship. Our goal has been to nurture talent, strengthen values, and build a united society guided by faith, discipline, and hard work.
We have invested heavily in sports as a tool for development. Various activities have been organized, including football, volleyball, netball, and athletics. These programs have engaged children, youth, and even adults, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to participate and grow. We have also supported indoor games such as chess and darts, promoting both physical and mental development.
In addition, we have provided essential support to schools. This includes:
Supplying sports equipment and uniforms
Donating computers and televisions to enhance learning
Supporting infrastructure development in both primary and secondary schools
Strengthening colleges and vocational training institutions
Our efforts go beyond sports and education. We are also working closely with communities to improve livelihoods. Through partnerships and collaboration, we are supporting agriculture, including coffee farming, by modernizing factories with new machinery to increase productivity.
We have also supported institutions such as Kiabugi Secondary School and improved facilities like hostels and access to learning resources. These investments are aimed at ensuring that our young people have a conducive environment to learn and succeed.
As we move forward, we continue to engage with leaders and stakeholders, including chairpersons and community representatives, to ensure that development is inclusive and sustainable. We are also exploring partnerships with other counties to exchange knowledge and improve service delivery, especially in areas such as water, health, and scientific innovation.
Our vision is clear: to build a strong, self-reliant community where opportunities are available to all. We are laying a firm foundation today so that future generations can thrive.
Together, we will continue to build, to empower, and to transform lives.

The petitioners had argued that the Kenyan government ignored prior warnings that could have prevented the attack, which killed over 200 people and injured thousands. The initiative marks a strategic shift from traditional honey production to high-value bee products such as venom, propolis, pollen, royal jelly and beeswax — positioning Kenya to tap into a global bee venom market currently valued at about US$370 million.
