 The 2nd edition of the PGK Equator Tour was a nationwide golf series spanning multiple venues, culminating at premier clubs such as Muthaiga Sports Club and Royal Nairobi Golf Club. More than fifty of Kenya’s professional golfers participated, competing under corporate-backed teams for points, rankings, and prestige 

 The tour ran for several months and provided consistent competitive exposure across Kenya’s top courses 

Structure and Sponsorship
Corporate Teams: Players represented major Kenyan corporations, including Safaricom, Kenya Airways, NCBA, British American Insurance (Britam), EABL, and others. For instance, Team Safaricom supported players like Samuel Njoroge, Mutahi Kibugu, Mohit Mediratta, and Matthew Wahome, providing financial support, training kits, monthly airtime, gym sessions, mental coaching, and performance analysis 

Corporate Shield: Teams competed for the Corporate Shield, a points-based competition, fostering team cohesion and performance incentives. Safaricom emerged at the top in 2026, reflecting consistent and disciplined play by its golfers 

Competitive Pathway and Player Development

The Equator Tour forms part of the PGK Player Development Plan (PDP), which aims to:

Enhance skills and discipline through mentoring, structured training, and psychological coaching.

Prepare players for international opportunities, including potential qualification pathways for events such as the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games

Provide exposure to higher-level tournaments, with top-ranked players earning chances to compete in prestigious tournaments like the Magical Kenya Open, allowing them to test their skills against regional and international opponents

Overall Tour Winner: Greg Snow with 4,450 points, followed by Samuel Njoroge second, and Mutahi Kibugu sixth 

Player Experience: The tour offered intense competition, framing a platform for performance tracking and consistent improvement
