  The ruling party Chairperson Gov Cecil Mbarire and SG Hassan Omar Urge Peace Ahead of Repeat PollOn the eve of the repeat grassroots elections, UDA 
  Chairperson Cecily Mbarire addressed the media, outlining the party’s preparedness for the exercise scheduled for Thursday, October 23th, 2026She described the election as a significant democratic process involving over 23 positions at each polling center, bringing together youth leaders, farmers, religious representatives, professionals, and members of the business community.The party expects approximately 8 million voters to participate across 9,121 polling centers nationwide. Mbarire noted that earlier phases had already been conducted in 25 counties, successfully electing more than 235,000 grassroots officials.To ensure efficiency and transparency, UDA has deployed 9,500 electronic voting tablets to polling stations, with results to be published on a public online portal. Voting will begin at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m., with provisions in place to address any logistical adjustments if necessary.The exercise is expected to produce 122 elected trustees, each carrying a direct mandate from the people.Emphasizing the importance of order, Mbarire urged members to maintain peace, avoid electoral violence, and uphold democratic values throughout the process.UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan echoed her remarks, calling for discipline and responsibility among party members.
